Service Overview
Studybay is a platform that has been offering academic
writing help to students since 2011, which makes it quite
an old writing service. The site design is nothing
special, but it's easy to navigate for the most part. I
didn't like that some important buttons are dumped to the
very bottom of the main page, but I won't draw conclusions
in my Studybay review based simply on that.
I was optimistic about this site because of hundreds of
reviews and a great rating on such platforms as TrustPilot
and SiteJabber. However, on the company's site, I saw some
unbelievable numbers: it is stated that they employ over
27 thousand writers who have completed orders for over 80
thousand customers. Granted, the company has been around
for close to 10 years, but I still couldn't help from
wondering, is Studybay legit? This review is for those who
are curious to find out the truth.
Quality of Services
As for the quality of writing, it's a kind of a lottery
with services like this. You may get a good writer, and
that will explain some positive studybay.com reviews. You
can spend time scrolling through the available candidates,
chat with them, and make your final choice.
Unfortunately, that didn't save me from a poorly written
paper. It was hard to read, and after I fixed some
mistakes, the plagiarism report was not good either. That
explains how the writer managed to send it to me long
before the deadline was over.
Prices and Deadlines
On the main page, there are promises of rates as low as $5
per page for a dissertation with a 3 weeks deadline or $8
per page for an essay with a 4 hours deadline. Now, even
if these prices were real, I would not expect any real
quality from a writer working on that dissertation.
However, the truth is that once you create an order,
writers start bidding on it, and the prices are nothing
like that. The lowest I got for a 2-page essay due in 10
days was $25. Other offers were as high as $70.
Oh, and there's also a service fee you pay to Studybay.
It's not shown on the order page but is mentioned in the
user agreement.
While I did get my essay long before the deadline, as I
mentioned before, you can find multiple Studybay reviews
from people who were less fortunate.
Guarantees
Although there are a lot of loud promises on the main
page, once you get to the user agreement, it becomes clear
that Studybay provides few real guarantees. The refund
policy is quite vague, and the thing I hate the most is
that the site seems to take no responsibility for its
writers. From what I've seen, there is unlikely any
serious selection process, and you simply have to hope
that your writer is a decent person.
Online Reputation
Well, there's a lot of praise for writers left by
customers on the site, but if you look for feedback
elsewhere, you'll encounter quite a lot of negative and
raging Studybay reviews as well. The answer to such a
difference lies in the fact that this service uses a
bidding system, and all of its writers are basically
freelancers. And when I opened the experts' list to see
their rating, I was presented with only about 4 thousand
writers, of which only about a hundred was online, and not
2.5 thousand like it says on the main page.
And now, the best part is only less than 800 writers had a
rating - all the rest seem to have completed no orders to
earn it. So, those are quite interesting details. After
seeing this, I think everyone can agree that Studybay
reviews and ratings have to be approached with caution and
extreme doubt.
Customer Support
As if things couldn't get any worse for the site, its
customer support also does not get any points from me. The
agents failed to provide any useful answers, and since the
bidding system is meant to eliminate the middleman, you're
supposed to communicate with your writer directly. There's
little the support team can do, so I am not sure what its
purpose is.
Conclusion
There are a lot more things I could reveal in my Study Bay
review, but it seems to me that it's all obvious by now.
The company tries to blind you with the numbers, thousands
of writers, high ratings, low prices, but hardly any of it
is true. The bidding system could be considered an
advantage in certain cases, but definitely not the way it
is implemented here. It's best to stay away from Studybay
if you don't want to waste your time trying to find a
decent writer and still failing to get a well-written
paper in the end.
